North America's 'largest transportation command center' opens it doors - Security Director News: "NEW YORK--The city's Joint Transportation Management Center, which is being touted as North America's largest transportation command center, opened late last year, a project that has brought various agencies and disparate technologies together.
The JTMC is focused on around-the-clock coordination and communication among the New York State Department of Transportation Region 11, New York City Department of Transportation, New York Police Department, the Federal Highway Administration and other partner agencies in the metropolitan area to manage daily transportation incidents and reduce congestion on some of the busiest expressways in the world. It is also designed to safely and efficiently move people, goods, services and information through the state and city of New York."
